I am fire.
I yearn to grow, to burn.
Fire grows, fire burns.
Unrestrained it consumes, unrestrained it can destroy.
Controlled it warms, controlled it can create.
I only wish to provide warmth, not to burn.
I only wish to create, not to destroy.
Where is my blacksmith who will fuel my passion and use me to create?
Where is my lover who will take comfort from my gentle embers?
But I have no forge. I have no hearth.
Unrestrained and uncontrolled, I wander, I spread;
Always searching for the place I belong.
I burn and consume, I flare and scorch.
I look behind and see the lush green grass growing from my ashes.
My work is done there – I can no longer burn the fresh growth.
And so I burn onward, always searching.
I am fire.
I burn, I destroy. But one day I will warm, one day I will create.
